Simone Bernasconi

Managing director, Competence centre msfi

Simone Bernasconi is the managing director of the competence centre msfi (sustainable mobility and railways, innovation).

 

Before being named MD in September 2015, Simone was project manager at the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) where he was responsible for safety analysis and projects. Prior to this, Simone has been an independent consultant in the aviation sector, working among others, for Skyguide, DFS, DSNA and SWISS.

Simone also spent 10 years with Swissair / SR Technics / SWISS, most recently as VP Customer Relations based first in the Kingdom of Bahrain and subsequently in South Korea where he was responsible for the establishment of the local operation, leading the local Fleet Technical Team (FTM) and managing the senior customer relations. He also managed international projects in London, Hong Kong; Toulouse, Düsseldorf and Long Beach, CA.

Simone has a Bachelor degree in electronics from the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), a Certificate in Aviation Safety Management from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles and a DAS in General Management from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
